Discover the Secret Codes of Mobile Phone

There are many secret codes hidden in your mobile phone. With this codes you can check the software version, IMEI, deactivate simlock (only in some models) or reset to default language. Some codes can be typed without SIM card while some must be with the SIM card inserted. You must pay particular attention that some codes may PERMENANTLY block your mobile phone.

What is an IMEI code?
The IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is an unique 17 or 15 digit code used to identify an individual mobile station to a GSM or UMTS network. The IMEI code is unique for each phone. It provides an important function of uniquely identifying a specific mobile phone being used on a mobile network.

To find your phone IMEI you need to dial on your phone the code *# 06 #
After that a 14 decimal digits plus a check digit will appear on your screen.
If your phone was stolen, but you know the IMEI code, you can lock the phone by reporting it to the police. In the future police investigation, the IMEI code of the stolen phone play a very important role, the police can locate the phone if the thief tries to use it before it is locked.
Also you can use the IMEI code to unlock your phone from operator restriction with some programs.
