The common problem of most websites is that they haven’t got enough traffic even though they have tons of good content. Even though the webmasters have spent money and effort to promote their website, they cannot get enough visitors. If you have faced such problem, please read below to get some tips for increasing traffic to your website.
Traffic Boosting Tips
1. Add a link of your website to community sites like MySpace and FaceBook
2. Incorporate a signature link in forums that directs to your site
3. Submit or post links of your websites to social book marking network sites. (see icons of these websites at the end of this article)
4. Leave comments on other people’s blogs and link back to your site (tip:ensure that the blog does not have ‘nofollow’ feature for links in the comment).
5. Add controversial comments on a popular topic. Everyone will like to add their comments there
6. Post answer questions to Yahoo Answers. A quick response will have a greater chance of your answer be selected as the best one. Your credit and popularity will be increased, and so you will have a greater chance to advertise yourself.
7. Create a cartoon mascot for your site – then hold a competition for someone to create the best game for it – pay the winner a decent amount.
8. Post periodically in Yahoo and Google Groups with your signature link added
9. Create a 404 error page in your website redirecting to your homepage – increase your exposure rate of the homepage
10. Write something informative about your field and inform others to let them know – there will be mostly likely that they will link back to you
11. Have an opt-in form – trade links with someone else who has an opt in form on your confirmation page

35. Hold a competition for the Top 50 in your niche – 1 month later post the results and let everyone know who featured – watch them link back to say what there position was.

61. Get yourself known as an expert and get featured in offline magazines, TV and radio stations.
62. Use an auto-translator service to translate your site into other languages – put it in a subdirectory and watch foreign traffic come in.
63. Get some stickers with your domain name on. Go out and stick them on strangers and say “My Website Yeah, Check it out.”
64. Make posts about sex (don’t have to post anything rude) – and watch the porn surfers find their way to your site through Google.
65. Post about celebrities current events if it relates to your niche – there’s always a lot of people looking up celebrity stuff.
66. Write good headlines/titles – good titles get more clicks.
